Today, 20th August 2026 we are reviewing this picturesque former railway station for sale. It was first listed in November 2024.
..
An important technique that our Mischief-Club has learnt over the years is to review unique buildings we kisted a tear or more ago.
Why?
Because that is how bargains are found.
The principle is verified by facts. We missed out on the Noss Head Lighthouse Station at £300,000. Many months late, we ended up buying that 33 acre site with three Grade A listed lighthouse buildings, plus a further four non-listed buildings in the compund. All for £200,000. That was a £100,000 saving.
In fairness, the owner offered to reduce the price. Had we known the owner was a registered charity, then the size of the discount would not have been accepted. The atonement for that was a discount we gave to a much needed new local doctor in one of the title-split buildings. So in terms of fairness, it balanced out reasonably well.
Focussing back on this converted railway station with those cute wee railway stem engines trundling on by, we do not know who owns this converted station home. But from decades of buying and renovating unusual buildings, when we see a property “stuck” and unsold for over a year, there is generally a willingness from the owner and/or their estate agency to listen to offers.
Any price reduction is likely to be good news to you.

So please keep an eye out for the fairly obscure date where a property for sale was ADDED to Rightmove (or whichever platform you favour). There is hidden treasure in the form of significant savings.

It is at the end of a perfect day. Albeit here at Unique Property Bulletin it was a site visit at a castle for sale, for which we are now drawing up an offer from this end of the keyboard.
