Extensive Range of Stable & Coach House Buildings

This property is of significant historic importance which has resulted in the property being listed as 2* by CADW in 1998; being commissioned by Sir Thomas Telford as part of the Post Road (A5) from London to Ireland in the early 1800’s with Mona Inn opening to the traveller in 1821.

Mona Inn – Temporary Onsite Accommodation

The property has a large and fully enclosed courtyard to the rear, which is cobbled around all four sides and has original hard standing in the centre (although this has become covered in a layer of grass in the past few years). The courtyard is surrounded by extensive two-storey outbuildings including coaching arches. There is a large area of lawn to the front of the property with large double gates to the side of the property through which the courtyard is accessed. To the rear of one wing of the outbuildings is an enclosed walled orchard, complete with apple trees of the period. The property, which was last partially inhabited in the 1980’s, is watertight, secure and fully alarmed, as is the courtyard. The dwelling adjoining the right-hand side of the property was formerly the Inn Keepers private residence and is available by separate negotiation from separate vendors.
