For Sale

The Turk’s Head, St Agnes,

Isle of Scilly.

For fun, guess the price. Answer at the foot of this page.

This is actually one of our TOP TEN favourite buildings in 33 years of running Unique Property Bulletin. Full disclosure, we know the owner and would be buying this island sanctuary ourselves were we not fully engaged at the furthest distance, away from the Isles of Scilly sorting out a solution to the fuel crisis (here). So sadly we will not be buying this wonderful place. But if you really want “unique”, here it is…

The Turk’s Head, St Agnes, Isle of Scilly.

What do you get?

=> A Home ~ Formatted as 1 bedroom apartment but is readily returnable to a 2 bed owner’s flat.

=> A Job ~ Running an incredibly popular hostelry, with ample scope to add business such as boat tours.

=> Jobs for 5 Islanders ~ Crucially the property has staff accommodation for 5. We cannot emphasise how important this is.

=> A Business ~ As well as your own job and a wage, you have a profitable enterprise.

=> Quality of Life ~ The owner of Unique Property Bulletin was brought up on an island. This is a great place to live and raise a family.

=> Remote Working Office Space ~ The internet was already an extra source of income. You can add that to the income streams here.

=> Views ~ These will enhance your life and beguile you in the best of ways.

Seriously, if all you do is look at the photos on this page and skim through the narrative, the place really does sell itself…

Back in the day, when the Turk’s Head started life as an old Coastguard Station (just like the building this publication was born in several hundred miles to the north), there were humble beginnings

Given this is a website BLOG and NOT and estate agency, we ask for a little latitude.

=> A little of our background might give you some ideas to add to your thoughts on a possible move from drudgery life to exotic sun-kissed island life.

We started this publication from a Coastguard Station on Davaar Island ~ much smaller than the Turk’s Head on the Isles of Scilly…

For Fun, see if you can find St Agnes on the

This island-theme and coastal location may be why it ticks so many boxes for us. But we believe that our readers have an affinity for coastal property and we know for sure that islands are like catnip for all of us here: I am tapping away at the keyboard and struggling not to phone up my friend and start talking purchase numbers!

=> This is one for you dear reader.

The water and especially the ease of access is crying out for boat hire or professional tours from these premises (NOT currently included)…

This Was One of Our Dayjob Vessels From Years Agos

We’ve been trying to buy the ship back for 21 years and now, just as the old man has lost his ticket (decrepitude), the ship is now informally for sale. This vessel used to ply the Jurassic Coast out of Dartmouth. It would be ideal for tours around Scilly Isles.

This is just an idea. It is t’s just a thought. An establishment such as the Turk’s Head has a very good reputation for quality food in an exquisite location. Truspilot photos and reviews: click.

=> It is a reasonable progression to add some nautical flavour to that experience. What better way than day-trips, and perhaps some of the nice cuisine whilst you are cruising around the islands.

The very first job I had was boat hire: clinker built rowing boats 12 foot long with Seagull brand engines on the transom. A small fleet of eleven out of Corrie Port and Sandstone Quay. Though that was on the island of Arran where the waters are relatively sheltered. The seas around here might be better served with a much larger tour vessel of 100 tons and major sea-keeping qualities, here is an example of one we could secure for you…

^^The Ship Now Works At Reykjavik ^^

It is likely to be for sale again.

You will likely have your own idea about this home and vocation for sale. We would be happy to help you succeed in whatever way possible. Just call us.
