In 1999 our editor at Unique Property Bulletin only needed ONE home in which to live ~ he certainly did not want four homes!
So when he and some Lighthouse Bulletin friends bought the whole lighthouse station for £60,000 in 1999, each was delighted with a single, separate, individual lighthouse home to restore.

The triumvirate of UK Land Registries are the gold-standard for researching and renovation of these iconic buildings (here).
Though for the dino-sore-russ stuff, you may need to dig deeper and go back into the previous century for older information. But the HM Land Registries are well worth the effort. We just wish more folk would appreciate how helpful they staff are.

There is a lesson-of-life here, in the fact a relatively small part of this lighthouse station is now, in 2025, worth more than the whole lighthouse station was, 25 years ago.
We suspect the lesson being that owning your own home is a often, and evidently here, a financially wise decision to make.
