The Importance of Archive Research
Bulletin back issues can save you thousands of pounds and reveal forgotten wonders for sale…
Damside Windmill, Taylors Lane, Pilling, Preston, Lancashire
We first featured this amazing windmill conversion well over a year ago in the Unique Property Bulletin (here). Recently an email from a reader looking for a windmill to live in got our radar going. Whilst checking the internet, we did a little research and ended up back at our own publication! Rediscovered this beautiful old windmill that had been elegantly converted to a home. The price has since been reduced by £45,000. Given this particular property has travelled though at least two estate agents and has hung around for a while, it may be worthwhile considering a bid at say £399,000, or indeed something more southerly starting with the number “3”.
It might also be an idea to check out some older editions of the Bulletin for other bargain buildings that set your pulse racing. These Bulletins go back from 2017 to 2012 online (and indeed 1992 for the old newsprint paper versions). For online research you just need to click on the right hand links sidebar at the lower half of this page for old news and possibly turn that into good news. Just like the price drop on Damside Windmill.

A spiral staircase leads to the ensuite master bedroom on the third floor, with access to the fourth floor hobby room. The property also benefits from a beautiful secluded south-facing garden to the rear, with lawns, patio and a range of mature plants, as well as a detached garage.
