We really didn’t want to write this page. Back at the Cuban Missile Crisis, those of us who were kids then remember it well. It was stressful, but it did turn out alright in the end.

You have arrived at this page for a reason. In fact we just took the 57th phone call from a very worried lady. Normally we receive 1 or 2 calls a month from a reader looking to buy a nuclear bunker (for enjoyment and recreation ~ not to save the lives of their kids from a questionable national leader in Moscow). In the past 9 days we have received 57 calls.



Little wonder folk are looking for a safe place to go when at Putin’s orders, his troops (apparently with some reluctance) are firing ordinance at a nuclear power station. NEVER in my life did I think I would hear this in real life…

To add insult to injury, the troops firing bombs at a nuclear power station had just marched past Chernobyl.

There is a minor comfort in that these conscripted troops have been so apprehensive about killing their neighbours, President Putin has sent his generals to the front to command them. Hence a two star general receiving bullet wounds when that rank should normally be at HQ 10 miles behind the front line.

In other words, the Russian Army is not totally under Putin’s command. One of our friends in Moscow has some interesting advice on that further into this article.

For now, our concern is to find safe places for folk who are having a hard time with the worry.

Many folk are opting for the former ROC Observer posts which are essentially a room buried underground…

Ukraine’s Nightmare Neighbour.

We’d like to offer some words of comfort. But Putin has just bombed a maternity hospital and seems beyond the pale.

There are many decent Russians who will recoil in horror when they find out vi real-world media what Mad Vlad has been up to.

The likeliest event will be thousands dead, but sanctions against the Russian people and a few Oligarch’s yachts will result in Putin being Putshced from office.

Many will remember that was the beginning of the end for president Gorbachev. He was subject to a putsch. That appears to be the favoured way to get rid of unstable presidents in Russia.

Back in 2018 South Korea’s nightmare neighbour, Kim Jon Un was actually launching ICBM rockets capable of carrying a nuclear payload.

Fortunately, that crisis has abated. At least for a while. We really do wish it were possible to answer questions about the Ukranian nightmare with some certainty right now.

From friends who are Russian and live in the country, there are some interesting conversations to be had. The received wisdom from our ordinary Russian friends, the ones that do the working and living and teaching and nursing and building in Russia is that Putin is likely to be “retired” just like President Gorbachev.

There is a debate amongst MANY Russians whether PUTIN’s Replacement will be.

The intensity of sanctions and ordinary Russians inexorably FINDING OUT that their food shortages, their banking collapse, their Rubble currency collapse, being deserted by China and becoming a worldwide Pariah State being due to Putin’s mess will likely be the end of Putin.

Making Things Better

What to watch out for?

From a friend in Moscow!

Cave houses are popular, but should humanity be forced to live in such structures because one man has become unfit for his job as president?

By making things better, we can supply many bomb-proof solutions. But that isn’t really the cure. What has shocked us is something going on behind the Iron Curtain.

 

It is often a natural human instinct to try and help make things better. The 57 inbound calls and texts to the volunteers at this website have had a profound effect at both ends of the conversation/texts. People are worried. What can be done to help?

There are very good organisations such as the DEC (here). But often a conversation like the one referenced above for 1 hour 3 minutes this afternoon helps get things into perspective. It can also bring out snippets of earlier chats, in this instance with a good friend born and raised in Moscow, that seem prescient. We will come onto that in a moment.

Many folk will shrug off current events in Ukraine and go about their own daily business. But millions will not.

These are having a profound influence to a worldwide humanity already bruised and scarred with two years of wretched Covid.

In 1996 a good friend committed suicide when his business failed. At the funeral I said those usual pleasantries: “Sorry for your loss. Terry was loved and respected by many”. 

But it didn’t seem enough. So we wrote to every one of HM Coroners and all the Procurators Fiscal tasked with the responsibility of a post mortem narrative.

It turned out that over 400 people committed debt-related suicide in the UK each year.

In a natural effort to do something more than pay respects with some hopefully helpful words, we established a small money advice charity. It ran for 10 years and helped around 3,336 folk .

After a decade, the economy seemed to be in a good way (ironically just before the banking crisis). So we disbanded the charity and asked the Commissioner to take it off of the official register (here).

It was and is remarkably straightforward to help folk extricate themselves out of money problems.

But right now, with global warfare rather than local money worries, not one person knows whether we are entering into World War 3 and nuclear Armageddon. Well maybe one person: Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

Many people are deeply worried. This  obscure website has had 57 telephone calls. In between each, there is a song that means a lot to our crew here. It may seem strange, but unlike the Cuban Missile Crisis, which we know we all survive, this is a different situation. Vladimir Puting seems determined to use tactical nuclear weapons and has now stated that “sanctions are a declaration of war from the West”.

So little wonder we take a deep breath and check our bearing. Maybe join with us on that for a few moments.

There are places I’ll remember

All my life though some have changed

Some forever, not for better

Some have gone and some remain

Indeed hear the actual words from the four guys who composed and sang this thoughtful musical refrain…

In 30 years of writing this Unique Property Bulletin publication, we’ve never had so many people ask for nuclear bunkers.

Hopefully the advice in the first part of this article has helped: suggesting folk choose a non-nuclear site if they want to seek sanctuary that way.

But in a peculiar turn of events, there are some facts that the writer of this page has irrepressible need to put down for time immemorial. It maybe worth adding that this next part is as fact-based as is possible within our ability. It is a former professional litigator (here) that is narrating this page and all has been verified to a degree that has a standard normally reserved for court and the legal process: witness + corroboration. It is important to us not to propagate rumour and some of the more salacious things that abound.

Goodness knows, we need some facts and statements from people on the ground in the relevant nations.

We hope this next segment may provide some enlightenment, if not direct inner workings of this unstable nuclear button presser. So here goes…

A long term friend who was born and lived all her days in Moscow was speaking with the owner of this website. She came out with some startling things that many of us who live in the West have no idea about. But we should. Here is something many in the west know little about…

The comments were so controversial that we felt it inappropriate to repeat them.

However, the founder of this website lost one of his brothers’ to leukaemia. Jason McLean was born on 16th January 1963 and died on 13th March 1965. Jason  smiled pretty much every day of his life and made his brothers, his mother and his father very happy. Yet the needles and horrendously invasive, painful medical procedures suffered by that wee boy haunt family members to this very day.

Worse, the type of leukaemia is now eminently treatable.

So when paediatric cancer doctors in the Ukraine report this death sentence caused by the megalomaniac, Vladimir Putin and the fact he has already killed children with his bombs and now has blood on his hands because he has caused this at hospitals for children in the Ukraine…




Well a message to Putin…

I would repeat the words of Clarke Gable and if Putin’s feeling’s are hurt, well frankly tovarishch Vladimir, I don’t give a damn. 

Personally, I want you to live a long life and repent for every death on your conscience in every hour of those long days. Ideally behind bars in a modern day Spandau Prison.

The matter which caused us such discomfort in reporting is the widespread feeling amongst decent-minded and honourable Russian people…

There is a game or bet that is rife in Russia called ~ “Putin: Putch Ili Yad”…

That is very distasteful. But it gets worse. Since last week when several mega yachts at half a BILLION Euros each (billion not million) were seized from named Russian Oligarchs, the variation of the above betting game is called ~ “Putin: Oligarkh Ili Novichock”.

First off, we do not condone these Russian roulette style games. The response to our friend was shock. She then explained the veracity to these being evidenced by Vladimir Putin’s use of ridiculously long tables…

Physically & Politically Isolated

Katrina was making an important point:-

The most likely way the Ukraine “special military operation” will cease or be rescinded is if/when Putin is removed.

There is no other solution. Right now Putin is unstable to the point he is using “sanctions” by the West as a reason to penultimately deploy tactical nuclear field weapons. The current Russian president regards these as a lower level “acceptable” nuclear field weapon than full Armageddon. Putin is preparing to trial one of his smaller low yield bombs on Ukraine. Putin’s disdain of Ukraine means the former Soviet state hew wants back can is ripe to learn a lesson from a small, low-yield device. Especially given the Russian conscript soldiers are refusing to kill their neighbouring Ukraine neighbours fast enough and in sufficient quantities.

Katrina’s subsequent assertion had the writer of these words jaw on the floor…

The next president of Russia will be one of Putin’s bodyguards.

This is because he has few or no political friends. He only trusts a select few of his guards.

Incredulity was our rejoinder from this end. This makes no sense to us. But we are not Russian and we do not live in Moscow!

Katrina was insistent. The photos of the very long tables is a small example illustrating why and how Putin is so scared. He is frightened of being poisoned. Understandable given historic events in the UK with the scandalous Novichok deaths.

But he also fears being attacked by in the style of one of his favourite movie characters: Keanu Reaves as John Wick..

This “John Wick” franchise is well known for killing mafia bosses after the assassin has been searched and found clear and harmless. Then goes into the villain’s lair and kills the Godfather with a pencil…

At this point, you are might be thinking similar thoughts to us…

Ridiculous Conspiracy Theory.

But president Putin does keep almost all people a long distance away from him via these bizarrely long tables…

That doesn’t exactly prove that the macho PR Putin is lining up a bodyguard as the next president of Russia.

Katrina said he is pals with Holywood tough guys as that’s all he watches in the presidential cinema.

Where is the corroboration we asked Katrina?

“Stephen Seagall” is one of many she replied.

30 seconds on the internet and when you witness a head of state act like a infantile fanboy with a Holywood actor AND arrange a Russian Passport AND ask president Obama to make this actor a bodyguard and an envoy between the two countries, something feels odd. But just check out 30 seconds of this…

Presidents who tend towards megalomania start to develop clear signs of instability and irrational behaviour. You might reflect on that video for a few moments. We did. It is a minor illustration, but the world has watched Putin for decades and all this behavioural strangeness adds up.

The thing about Russians betting on…

…starts to make some sense when you see the Oligarchs around him lose multiple billions of dollars, gold, euros and shares. In a country such as Russia where life Mafia type behaviour is apparent, it only takes one seriously pi55ed off Russian billionaire to make a contract and some Muscovites will be collecting on their bets.

A Group Who Putin MUST Listen To ^^^

We wish no human being harm, but what is happening in Ukraine with death and genocide being conducted, all the while the Russian president bending the truth, we can at least understand our friend Katrina reporting on the dark humour in her country.

For us, the tipping point has been a respected political researcher, Alec Luhn who can be quoted from a detailed article in the “Politico EU” journal…

“In 2016, Putin began appointing his former bodyguards as regional governors, leading to persistent speculation that he was grooming them as potential successors.”

If you think through the options in the Russia-v-Ukraine war, it is highly unlikely Putin will withdraw. He got away with Crimea and other invasions. This time he is going for the historic number one spot and taking back (as he sees it) one of the USSR soviet states to his Fatherland.

The West have a near impossible job. Almost any meaningful action to support the Ukraine may start Wold War 3.

From the reports inside Russia and fact that too many ordinary Russians now realise Putin has lost the plot whilst they are heading towards sanction-driven starvation, we have been told to watch out for Putin declaring MARTIAL LAW IN RUSSIA…

Why would Martial Law in Russia by Putin be important to the West?

At that point, Katrina advises, is when Putin will either have lost control of his citizens, or be in fear of a putsch as happened with his predecessor Russian president Mikhail Gorbachev (Putsch: here).

So there you have it.

We started out by NOT recommending UKWMO Nuclear Bunkers and ended up with a possible solution to watch out for that may signal PEACE breaking out between Russia and the Ukraine.

Plus a possible way for you to locate an underground home that is relatively safe from Putin’s version of the Kerboom game!

If pressed for a choice, we hope it is just a putsch and for Putin to fade away. Though criminal charges surely await.

France Haugen is Mark Zuckerberg’s worst nightmare. She has given, clear, fair, constructive evidence before the US Senate today, 5th October 2021. The verdict:

Facebook are morally bankrupt.

The session before US Senators was compelling; magnetic even.

Facebook requires reform. Frankly it is difficult to see how Zuckerberg can remain in post, even though he owns 55% of the shares in this internet behemoth. Some evidence came very close to culpability in manslaughter charges against Zuckerberg.

Full disclosure, here at Unique Property Bulletin we lost over 7,000 readers (or followers as Facebook call their monetized subscribers).

When we tried to recover the modest £2,000 annual spend with Facebook, we were faced with a writ-dodging cowboy outfit of quasi-professional law-manipulators and evaders. Simply put, as a company based in the UK, we couldn’t get hold of anyone in the Facebook UK office. All arrows pointed to Eire! To hire a lawyer in the Republic of Ireland was expensive. Their advice, and this was apparently to hundreds, maybe thousands of litigants enquiring about civil suit against Facebook was the company works hard to evade litigation. It specialises in running up your legal bills. Fight with Facebook and you risk your company going bankrupt in fees alone. Ummmhh.

So we waived goodbye to 7,000 readers and £2,000. We also stopped advertising with Facebook (click here).

The trouble is, many, many organisations did the same and Facebook lost a lot of business.

So Facebook executives took a conscious decision to place children in harm’s way to boost their profits.

That has done a remarkable thing in the current severely divided politics of America: it has united Democrat and Republican senators to bring Facebook to account.

Meanwhile in our small world, whilst Facebook was an excellent way of letting friends and readers know about unusual properties that were/are currently for sale, it simply was not worth the candle. That social media platform has a disreputable business model created by a deeply unpleasant character. Now it seems there is sufficient political willpower in America to repel the huge lobbyist business at Washington DC and get a grips of this rogue outfit. Facebook should be a social platform with some decency. Ironically Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen still thinks that her former employer can be brought back from the edge of extinction.

Coronavirus is forecast to be with us much longer than the 1918 pandemic (here). Why? We have 7.8 billion people on the planet in 2020 (here) as opposed to the estimated 1.8 billion in 1918.

It is a matter of basic arithmetic. Lethal pandemic variants happen when there is a large population.

Adding an extra 6 billion covid human hosts onto the planet for the virus to mutate in is seriously unfavourable arithmetic.

We are not epidemiologists here at Unique Property Bulletin. But we can count.

It is a mathematical certainty that there will be a Covid “E” variant. We don’t wish to get into the regular Covid conversation that plagues us all nowadays. But our own enquiry level from our readers seeking to leave covid-cities and lockdown-towns has increased FOURFOLD.

So something odd is going on.

Hence this segment with a remote and very affordable building plot.

Whilst your newbuild unique home is being constructed, we would recommend that you look at buying something half decent to live in as temporary accommodation.

Many years ago, our Unique Property Bulletin editor worked in London and there was a phrase the used in the building business…

“How much does it cost to park your waste paper basket”

Back in the 1990s anything over £500 per square foot was considered a lot and that was in Chelsea.

The phrase is thought provoking because you are almost burning money to park that waste paper basket on a space of approximately 1 square feet.

The point?

This windmill at Horning is picture postcard perfect. But the cost per square foot to buy is very high. Yes of course the added scenery and waterside location increase the value, but if you forensically dissect the cost of a site and the building of something similar, we can get this to the £150,000 mark. Hence our reckoning about moving being a seven year thing.

=> We’ve taken to describing this “SEVEN YEAR ITCH” thing for a reason.

Definitively, the number of times folk move is a very difficult question to answer with precision. Some organisations say in the UK folk move once every 23 years (here). We preferred the opinion of a removal form who quoted around 8 times in a lifetime (here).

Our own 7-year-itch move rate may be biased because we write about and see some amazing properties, such as the example of Davaar Island in this epiogue on our front page.

=> So what is the point of mentioning this Unique Property Rule?

Well it’s about how often a particular house comes up for sale, rather than how often folk move. Though generally (apart from inheritance moving), the Venn diagram of people moving and house sales are very similar circles.

=> It can be as short as just ONE year. Do you see where we are going with this?

 We’ve seen a lighthouse on Orkney come back on the sale market after just 365 days. That was terribly sad as someone’s dream was to live in a lighthouse and it fell apart after a just one year. That, by the way is why we recommend you HOLIDAY at a lighthouse station for TWO WEEKS in the SUMMER and crucially TWO WEEKS during the WINTER. To see if you like lighthouse life an importantly if it likes you.

But our main point is this…

We mention our seven year itch moving rule because if the average property comes up for sale once every seven years, then you might well be advised to…
